Certificate Iii sits at AQF level 3 on the Australian Qualifications Framework — a vocational education and training (VET) qualification recognised across Australia and by employers and registered providers internationally.
Certificate III (AQF Level 3) is a core VET qualification for trade and care roles — commercial cookery, individual support, early childhood education and care, automotive and hospitality operations. Many international students use Cert III as the first step in a VET pathway.
TAFEs and private RTOs dominate Certificate III delivery. Look for workplace hours, kitchen/salon facilities, and whether the provider packages Cert III → Cert IV → Diploma.
